Spring is officially here and after all the winter hibernating, I’ve been focusing on nurturing beauty products to help me get ready for the ‘less is more’ feel of the summer!
Soon we will all be wearing less layers and revealing more skin, but before that day comes, I still need to shake off the winter. There are a few pounds to shed, some skin buffing to be done and I’d better get some fake tan soon too. But before that, I’m trying to be gentle with myself and allow a bit of pampering to wake me up to the new season.
Recently I’ve been taking a lot of relaxing baths, and my must-have products for serious pampering are the Love Aroma scented candles and the JOIK bath truffles!
On the left you can see a blue candle – this is a WoodWick candle from Love Aroma. It is from their new range and has a patent pending. This is because the wick design offers a faster fragrance, a better burn and a soothing crackle sound! It actually makes you think you are sat next to a log fire, but the scent of this particular candle is a ‘Trilogy’ of Baby Powder, Pure Comfort and Paradise Blue called ‘Fresh & Clean’. Combined, these give off the scent of a freshly laundered house so you can burn it for that “I’ve been cleaning all day” smell when actually you’ve been relaxing! I actually burn this in my living room but I love it so much it needed to be in this shot!
The candle I’ve been using in the bathroom is the Love Aroma Stoneglow Modern Classics White Tea & Bamboo Tumbler. The candle costs just £25 but it has a really ‘high end’ look – you can see it on the right. It has a refreshing and uplifting scent and would make a lovely luxury gift for someone or a treat for yourself!
Also in the photo, there are some white chocolate bath truffles. These are from new brand JOIK who specialise in natural cosmetics. JOIK is an Estonian company and all their products are hand made there, but they are reaching into the UK with their natural, quality products and beautiful designs.
The JOIK White Chocolate Bath Truffles contain soothing cocoa butter and they are extra moisturising for dry skin. Since I turned 40 I’ve noticed that my skin is dryer, so anything to give me a moisture boost suits me! However my tween son loved the truffles too – mainly because of the delicious white chocolate scent and the fact that the truffles dissolve to release dried flowers into the bath water!
On the photo above you can see the bath truffles again but next to them is a fresh new perfume I’m wearing as it is so appropriate for spring! St Kitts Herbery is a Cornwall based manufacturer and retailer of fine toiletries and fragrances. They have a luxury feel to their packaging, and I particularly liked the St Kitts Perfume, Mist as it is so light and ‘crisp’. It contains notes of lemon, green herbs and eucalyptus with a lingering fragrance of rose, neroli, amber and cedarwood. I’ve worn it on the school run for the last week as it’s not too heavy and makes me feel more ‘dressed’ when I have a spritz of something on!
At the far right in pink packaging you can see the Argenine Hydroxy Concentrated Serum from Zuzka Natural Beauty. I’ve been wearing this day and night under my moisturiser and night cream to help give my skin a smoother appearance as it helps to improve wrinkles and expression lines and you can see results instantly. Other customers have even called the serum ‘Botanical Botox!’ You only need a small amount to pamper the whole face and it helps my skin feel rejuvenated.
The Dior lipstick in the shot was put there because I had it in my bag when I was doing this shoot and I thought it looked nice!
